Reading for April 8th: 2 Samuel 13-15
Weekly reading for April 5-11: Luke 20-24
And after an interval of about an hour still another insisted, saying, "Certainly this man also was with him, for he too is a Galilean." But Peter said, "Man, I do not know what you are talking about." And immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed. And the Lord turned and looked at Peter.
Luke 22:59-61
We've all had one of those moments. We acted selfishly and callously. We thought we could get away with it. But we didn't. Not only did they find out what we did, but they caught us while we were doing it.
And we get the look. Not a look of anger. (It would be easier to deal with that.) Worse than anger, we get a look of hurt and disappointment.
There are several mental exercises we can use to help maintain integrity and faith when under fire. Perhaps getting in our mind a visual picture of Jesus watching us would help us in our struggle against sin.
More than anything else, Father, we don't want to disappoint You. Help us to live so that we may put a smile on Your face.
