Exhort One Another Daily
Reading for September 21st: Joel 1-3
Weekly reading for September 20-26: Hebrews 1-5
But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called "today," that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
Hebrews 3:13
We know we're supposed to be there on Sunday and Wednesday to exhort our brothers and sisters. Hebrews 10:24-25 tells us:
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
But are Sunday and Wednesday the only days of the week? What about Monday and Tuesday? Does the devil leave us alone on those days? What about Thursday, Friday, and Saturday? Are we not tempted every day of thee week?
"But exhort one another every day," says the Hebrew writer, "as long as it is called 'today.'" We can't take a day off. Encouraging each other should be a daily concern for us.
Is there something you can do today to encourage your brother? Pray about it right now.
Father God, give us a spirit of love, a heart of compassion, and a sense of urgency as we seek to encourage one another this day.
