The Pathway to True Joy

These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
John 15:11
If I am following chapter 15 of John correctly, the pathway to joy looks something like this:
- The fullness of joy is found in the things Jesus has spoken to us (v 11).
- What Jesus promised was that we could abide in his love just as he abides in the Father's love (v 10).
- To abide in Jesus' love we must keep his commandments (v 10).
- His commandment is that we love one another as he has loved us (v 12).
- So, we discover the fullness of joy by loving one another as Jesus has first loved us!
Let's go out and do that today!
Father, help us to love one another (and thus discover the fullness of joy!) as Jesus first loved us.
