Worthy is the Lamb!
Reading for December 16th: 2 Timothy 1-4
Weekly reading for December 13-19: Revelation 6-11
After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!"
Revelation 7:9-10
Worthy is the Lamb!
He left glory to be born in a stable. He lived thirty years in obscurity. He was despised and rejected by his own hometown.
Worthy is the Lamb!
He healed the sick and gave sight to the blind. He made the deaf to hear and the lame to walk. Lepers were made clean. The poor had the gospel preached to them.
Worthy is the Lamb!
He held children, taught women, and ate with tax collectors. He associated with the lowly and never refused sinners who sought him.
Worthy is the Lamb!
He bore our sins and carried our sorrows. He became a curse for us, the just for the unjust. The sinless son of God died for worthless sinners like you and me.
Worthy is the Lamb!
The grave couldn't hold him. He triumphed over death. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
Worthy is the Lamb!
Exalted now in heaven he is seated at God's right hand. He is the King of kings, the Lord of lords. Cherubim and seraphim worship him. The highest arch angels sing his praises day and night. Yet he listens to our prayers.
Worthy is the Lamb!
What a privilege and honor, O Lord, that we should be able to approach you in prayer! We come before the throne of mercy in your mighty name!
