Reading for January 29th: Exodus 33-35
And he said to him, "If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here."
Exodus 33:15
Where would you be willing to go without Jesus?
Moses wouldn't take another step toward the Promised Land if God wouldn't go with them. He knew they were helpless. They couldn't survive without the Lord.
What about you? Can you survive in this world on your own? Do you feel secure on your journey without God?
I think all of us would say no. But what are we saying with our actions? Do we consult the Lord daily? Are we reading his Word? Are we asking for his help in prayer? These daily disciplines say clearly to God that we want him with us guiding us on our way.
What are your study and prayer habits saying to God?
Father God, we need you every day. We seek your wisdom and your presence above all else.
