God Has Not Forgotten You!

Reading for August 8th: Isaiah 49-53

But Zion said, “The Lord has forsaken me;
    my Lord has forgotten me.”
"Can a woman forget her nursing child,
    that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget,
    yet I will not forget you."
Isaiah 49:15

Have you ever left your child at church before? I'm embarrassed to say I have. It wasn't Adrienne's fault. We drove to church separately and I was supposed to bring Joshua home with me, but I drove out of the parking lot without him. (And what's worse is he came running after me shouting for me to stop!)

Have you ever felt like GOD has forgotten you? Maybe you were going through a hard time financially. Perhaps you had a sick child who wasn't getting any better. It could have been a bad relationship, a financial burden, an enemy, or some other issue in your life that was troubling you. You prayed and prayed with earnestness and patience and yet nothing seemed to change for the better. In fact, in spite of trying to do the right thing and waiting on God to answer your prayers, your situation only got worse and not better.

Ever felt that way?

Are you feeling that way now?

Understand that God has not forgotten you. It may seem like it at times, but he will never forget you. A father or a mother may forget their child, but it's impossible for our loving Father to forget his children.

Father, we sometimes wonder where you are, and especially when we're hurting. But we wait on you and trust that in the end you will deliver us from all our enemies and give us victory in Jesus Christ!
