The Greatest Gift You Can Give Your Kids
Reading for December 25th: 2 John-Jude
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
3 John 4
As the children tear open their Christmas presents, the parents are sometimes the ones who are the most excited. They live to see the joy on their children's faces. Indeed, it is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35).
But there is a greater gift than anything that would sit under a Christmas tree. There is a gift that cannot be compared to anything that money can buy. Indeed, the greatest gift is something more than all the world combined.
The greatest gift is God.
So enjoy the joy you experience with your children this holiday season, but remember that the greatest gift you can give your kids is God.
Father, thank you for our children and for the time we have with our families this time of year. Help us to keep all these material things in perspective. And may we find our greatest joy in seeing our children walk in truth.
