My Thoughts On Inauguration Day
Reading for January 20th: Exodus 14-16
"You will bring them in and plant them on your own mountain,
the place, O Lord, which you have made for your abode,
the sanctuary, O Lord, which your hands have established.
The Lord will reign forever and ever."
Exodus 15:17-18
Donald John Trump will take the oath of office today to become the 45th President of the United States. It never ceases to amaze me how my daily reading gives me something I need for that day, and today's daily reading is no different. The reading today is a reminder that kings will come and go, but the Lord will remain enthroned forever.
That is all I needed to know on inauguration day.
Father, you are our strength and our song and our salvation. You are our God and we will praise you. Keep our hearts still and remind us that you are always there on your throne.
