I Have Been Crucified With Christ

Reading for December 7th: Galatians 1-3

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life that I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20

When Paul says, "It is no longer I who live" he is using the primary pronoun of the first person "I". It is only used in Greek when making a special emphasis on the first person. In other words, he is saying emphatically, "I am dead," "I no longer live," "I have been crucified."

Now, here's the neat part about that. Do you know what the primary pronoun for "I" is when transliterated into English? It is the letters E-G-O. Ego. That is what must be crucified in self. It's the only way Christ can live inside of us!

Father God, destroy our pride. We vacate the throne. We invite you to sit down and rule in our hearts.
