I'm tired of sin.
I'm tired of fighting temptation. I'm tired of disappointing my Father over and over again. I'm tired of looking at myself in the mirror. I'm tired of having to confess and repent of sins that I shouldn't be committing anymore. I'm tired of doing some of the same stupid sins I had problems with 20 years ago!
I'm tired of sin.
I'm tired of seeing the innocent suffer. I'm tired of watching children go through divorce. I'm tired of witnessing those who suffer physical and emotional abuse. I'm tired of watching addicts slowly destroy themselves and those whom they love.
I'm tired of sin.
I'm tired of pride and selfishness. I'm tired of adultery and divorce. I'm tired of jealousy and envy. I'm tired of drunkenness. I'm tired of gossip. I'm tired of covetousness. I'm tired of people using people to their own ends. I'm tired of the endless slaughter of the unborn.
I'm tired of sin.
I'm tired of watching the news. I'm tired of famines in Africa and wars in the Middle East. I'm tired of extreme poverty worldwide and homelessness right here my backyard. I'm tired of watching beggars and prostitutes roam hopelessly on the streets. I'm tired of all the political rhetoric that solves nothing.
I'm tired of sin.
I'm tired of going to funerals. I'm tired of seeing husbands say goodbye to their wives and wives to their husbands; of children losing their parents, and of parents mourning over the graves of their children. I'm tired of lonely people living in big lonely houses.
I'm tired of sin.
I'm tired of the devil. I'm tired of him finding perverse pleasure in our misery. I'm tired of those who worship him. I'm tired idolatry. I'm tired of false teachers. I'm tired of hearing about fallen church leaders. I'm tired of hearing God's name taken in vain. I'm tired of it all! I'm tired of it!
Lord, come quickly.
