Title: Does Baptism Wash Away Sins? Reading for November 20: Acts 22-23 "And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name." Acts 22:16 In the Ryrie Study Bible there is a footnote to this verse which says simply, "Baptism does not wash away sins." That's pretty bold. There's no doubt Dr. Ryrie has reasons why he says that Acts 22:16 doesn't mean what it says, but it's still kind of startling to see such a denial of what the verse plainly says. Don't be fooled by Study Bibles. Do what God's Word says. Father, give us the courage to reject the scholars' word to obey your Word.
