God Loves Our Children More Than We Do
Title: God Loves Our Children More Than We Do
Reading for September 4: Ezekiel 33-35
I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I myself will make them lie down, declares the Lord God. I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, and the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them in justice.
Ezekiel 34:15-16
I remember one night Adrienne and I were praying for the kids about something. I don't remember what it was about, but I remember we were both a little worried about something and we weren't sure what to do.
It was in the middle of this prayer and conversation that Adrienne said something that brought me so much peace and comfort. She said, "You know, God loves our kids more than we do."
That is so true. As much as we love our three kids, God loves them more than we could possibly imagine. And as limited as we are in knowing what to do sometimes or how to do it, there is no limit to God's wisdom or power. He knows the end from the beginning. He knows each one of our children better than we could ever know them. He knows exactly what they need.
Father, we take great comfort in your love for our children and the constant care and attention you give them. Guide our parenting with your wisdom and override the mistakes we make. Direct their hearts toward you!
