Unsearchable Greatness
Title: Unsearchable Greatness
Bible Reading for July 11: Psalm 140-145
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
and his greatness is unsearchable.
Psalm 145:3
In Revelation chapter four John was allowed to see the throne scene in heaven with the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures worshiping the Creator God. It would appear that this worship never ends because it says that the four living creatures never cease day and night to say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!”
Why does this worship never end? Many reasons could be suggested but perhaps it is because the greatness of God never ceases to evoke awe and amazement. Visit the Grand Canyon every day and the canyon will not seem as grand as the first time you saw it. Go to Niagara Falls a thousand times and the roar of the water will not inspire you as it did the first time you heard it. But creatures who gather around God’s throne every day for a million years will be just as awestruck and amazed at the end as they were the first time they laid eyes on their Creator.
While everlasting ages roll,
Eternal love shall feast their soul,
And scenes of bliss, forever new,
Rise in succession to their view.
Father, we long for the day when we can begin to experience the never ending pleasure of seeing your greatness and glory!
